Here in Southern Missouri…June 1st is a bit soggy. If you look at the forecast…it’s rain for years. That being said we are glad that you are back June, you ol’ thang. One request though: A few sunny days for swimming? Mmmkay. Thanks!
So…now that you have the weather report, how about some junking news? Yesterday, I was at one of our little “honey holes” and treated myself. I have been admiring this little salt crock for awhile. It’s old, well-loved, and perfect. She even came down a bit on it. That is always a bonus. These days I am picky about the finds that I bring home. This one though…is a keeper.
Okay, so, did you know that Bath and Body Works have made some of their classic scents available again? They sure have. I ordered Sun Ripened Raspberry this morning.(I am sold on their body cream in any scent.) Eeeeeep! How fun is that? I have missed that scent. It was probably my very favorite! Plus today…they have a code for free shipping. Aaaaand…It was buy two get one free!!! You totally needed to know. Totally cool. (My daughters are rolling their eyes and barfing. Wait…what am I saying? They won’t read this! I can say what I want!!!) TOTALLY! Lol!
(This is the “retro” packaging. They have amped it up a bit. Cause you know…it’s not 1995.)

I am waiting in the parent pick up line as we speak. Well actually as I speak. Into my little microphone thingy. Why do I forget all the rest of the year just how crazy, crazy, super-crazy the month of May is? Then it rolls around and I act surprised. Maybe I should write this down. 😉
Other than that, we are all trying to hang in there. I’m sure that you all are doing the same. I will try to write a little more content for you… when I get a minute.
If your month of May is a little crazy, like ours, just try to remember that summer is around the bend. My hope is that it is a relaxing and refreshing one.

Yesterday’s post was a bit heavy. We have to have that at times don’t we? It is the stuff that life is made of. Today though…we are going with light and fluffy. A good balance is something that I am learning. Sometimes…we have to direct our minds from the heavy things that we carry…to the lighter side of life. It’s not denial…it’s survival.
Are you guys putting out all things springy? I really need to do that. Spring break is next week in our neck of the woods…so it would definitely be appropriate.
We have had a new baby born on the farm. She is a little Black Angus heifer named Cleo. She is just as cute as she can be. I love to watch her jump around. She keeps her mama on her toes, watching after her. 
Since we are just visiting today…what are you guys having for supper? We are having taco night at Mamaw and Papaw’s. Mamaw and I cooked up that plan last night…so we are all excited. Tacos are just about my very favorite meal to have at home. We actually eat Mexican food a lot around here. Such a fun meal. I may try my hand at chunky guac tonight. They serve that at our local El Charro and it’s AHHHHHHHmazing!
Well…I am about out of light and fluffy chatter. I hope that you all have an amazing weekend. I hope that you take the time to count every blessing that the Lord has given you. Thankfulness is key in a happy life isn’t it? You bet your eye teeth it is!

Ha! What a title! Plain and simple, I have a question for you on this week before Thanksgiving. To tree or not to tree? Do you already have yours up?
Our girls wanted to put ours up last Saturday. It was way in the back corner of the basement…so it’s still not up. I used to always wait. I love Thanksgiving so I like to savor it first. Plus…the simplicity lover in me can only handle seasonal decor for so long. (Weird, I know.) We shall see how it goes. When it comes to my babies…I tend to cave on things that don’t have to be set in stone. I like that about me.
I would love to hear your take on it. It’s fun to appreciate the perspectives of others. Leave me a comment. Let’s hash this thing. 😉 To tree or not to tree…

Blogging from my phone today. I need to go to the grocery store…so not a lot of time for photog and edits. I kinda love ALDI a lot…so it’s not a huge chore. Just a few Thursday musings for ya and a few iPhone shots.
Isn’t Thursday fun!? Most of you know that it’s my favorite and always has been. Strange…I know. Lol! I like to have all of my stuff done by Thursday, house cleaning etc., so I can enjoy. My dad was like that. Jump in and get your work done so you can party to the fullest. 😉
I have every intention of setting up a new craft area in the basement. Yes…my new sewing machine is still in the box. To my credit though…we have had a lot going on. Also, for this little project I am going to need the Mr.’s muscles…because a few things need moved. We also need to build a little goat barn. Hmmm….wonder which one will win out? 😉

Hey Guys!  How are you?  We are doing well.  I am thankful to be able to say that, truthfully.  Life is hard sometimes, isn’t it?  Sometimes it feels as though we move from one struggle to the next.  God is faithful though, and He gives us help and strength.  Anyway…thank you for joining me on this Monday…babble.  Just a few things that are going on at the Farmhouse.  Not rocket science or mind blowing.  Just me, trying to start another week.  Trying…is good.  🙂
Sooo…guess what? Â I ordered another book. Â Would you like to know what it is? Â Of course you would. Â I ordered the Trim Healthy Mama book. Â I am so excited to get it and just…learn…at first. Â I am not one of those folks that can eat whatever their hearts desire and stay the same size. Â I have to watch it a little…or I gain. Â That being said…I am so interested in a healthy lifestyle. Â (Even though I have an insane love for the carbonated beverage.) Â After my dad went to Heaven, the weight dropped off. Â Then after a few months…I would eat…just because it gave me comfort. Â I am not trying to promote a diet plan…because we all know at what weight we feel good. Â That is where I try to stay. Â Also…since I am a thirty-something…I want to be healthy and take care of this temple that God gave me. Â Does that include iced coffee? Â I hope so. Â See? Â My sanguine/party personality…is my waistline’s arch rival. Â lol!
In other Farmhouse news…I bought two new succulents last night and some new yarn.  I know, I know.  Such an exciting life that I lead.  Oh…and I also bought an Auntie Anne’s pretzel…because our town now has a franchise.  This should have been in the paragraph above.  Or not.  Don’t tell the Trim Healthy Mama folks about my pretzel okay?  lol!  Actually…I don’t have my book yet.  Pass me another pretzel…with sweet mustard please.  😉  Anyway…an old high-school friend has been out to our farmhouse and she inspired me with her crochet talent.  I know how to crochet a tad.  I’m starting with a dish rag.  Wish me luck.
In oily news, I ordered some Bergamot from Young Living today. Â I am anxious to mix it with my Patchouli for perfume. Â I have heard that it’s really nice. Â Are you familiar with Young Living essential oils? Â We love them. Â Our whole family. Â It’s amazing when we utilize the things around us, that God provided when He created this place. Â Don’t be scared. Â I didn’t sell my Expedition to buy a hippie van. Â I just love the fact…that my children can use Peppermint for a headache instead of something that is hard on their liver. Â Ya know? Â Of course you do.

I warned you of the babble. Â If you are still here, by this point, bless you. Â I plan some “granny chic” goodness for us this week…we shall see how that goes. It’s true. I was gifted two goats for my birthday.
Aren’t they sweet?
Their names are Peanut (baby) and Myrtle (momma).
They live out by the chickens. They add a certain amount of “farmishness” around here.
This…is some serious business. Goats, chickens and a farmhouse to clean. I believe that I can handle it. 😉
My computer is acting wonky today. I’m gonna have to figure this one out…but I didn’t want to leave you without saying Happy Weekend, Dirt Roaders! May your weekend be filled with all things fun and the time to stop and look around…in awe…of the blessings that God has put into your life.

Hey there.  Is your day going well?  I sure hope so.  We are trying to get back into the school groove around here.  It’s not too long until we will be in full swing.  Does summer go by faster the older you get?  When I was a kid…it lasted forever.  I don’t want to leave you there though…because routine is good.  It makes us appreciate the laid back times and gives us a reason to party during break.  😉
The silver in my hair, (Lets call it silver…it sounds so much more sparkly than gray.) is testifying to the fact that my kids are growing up.  I told the Mr. yesterday…that someday it will be just he and I and the dogs here.  Ha!  He looked a little sad.  We both enjoy our kids…like crazy. We will probably be those grandparents.  lol!
Last night was open house and the kids were excited. Â When they are excited…then I am excited for them. Â I do love my quiet time…and my “me” time….but in moderation on that last one. Â My favorite time of day, during the school year, is when they climb into the vehicle to come back home.
This post is starting to sound a little melancholy…and I don’t want you to be sad. Â How bout this? Â My kids are going back to school…and while they are gone…I’m going to do projects and cook fun things…and do laundry and go junking and go to the grocery store and PARTY HEARTY!!! Â ha! Â Whew…pulled us up out of that one…huh!?
