About

Living and loving the simple “dirt road” life is our passion.  Off the beaten path,  into the country is where our stress drifts away.  A strong heartbeat for “well-loved” things to incorporate into our home…..inspires my “junkin’ trips.”  With a hearty love of faith, family and friends….you might often find me cooking a new recipe in an iron skillet, hugging my husband and our children, or scratching behind the ears of a Millie Jane or Suzie.  Welcome to our stretch of the dirt road.

Hi! I absolutely love love love your blog! It give me daily inspiration and really helps be to learn how to see the beauty in every part of my life ever day! You totally inspire me as a mom and wife myself! I have a question for you.. I have three kids 12, 7 and 3.. And I am desperately trying to make sure they are hearing and receving in Word of God at home since the attend public schools… But I want to make something they delight in doing as opposed to making it a chore.. I would love you input! Also.. One more question promise!! With my 12 year old daughter, the hormones are starting to get out of control! She is generally a well behaved child, but lately she has been talking back and giving me and her father a little attitude. Any suggestions there? Thank you so so much!!

    • Melanie….Thank you so much for the kind words. They touch my heart and make blogging worth while. The main thing that I try to do with our kids is show them that Jesus is a daily part of all that we do. He is the MAIN member of our family. We attend a Bible believing church and they get a solid foundation in that vein. I am a firm believer though…that it all begins at home. We try to have devotions with our kids too. Sometimes we fail at that. I have learned that parenting can humble you like nothing in life. Gods grace covers all of that though and I am so thankful. I have been delighted of late though because our older children are picking up their own daily devotion habits. That was a huge turning point in my teenage years. As far as hormones…whew! Hang in there mama…and big hugs to you. Lots of patience…eek…and remembering how hard those years are helps a lot. Lots of hugs and also a healthy bluff…that it will only work…your way…is about all I have learned. If you find something better…let me know. 😉 p.s. Prayer changes things. Sometimes I tell them to go find a quiet place to talk their behavior over with God. ❤️

  5. Hi Kelli!

I love your pretty home and am wondering if I can feature it in my “Charming Home Series” that runs every Sunday and showcases a variety of styles. If you’re agreeable, you don’t need to do anything other than give me permission to use your photos on my blog. I will write about what makes your home beautiful and will include several links back to your blog, of course.

Here’s a link to a page on my blog that lists the home features I’ve published so far so you can get an idea of what it looks like. No pressure … just let me know if you’re interested. Thanks!!
