Are you guys gardening up a storm? We are not. We planted a little garden, and got it in late, so I will be doing some late summer canning hopefully. I’m good with that. Sometimes we have to be flexible. Flexible is good.
Tonight we are having the Mister’s steaks from the grill and a bit of yumminess on the side. Our daughters made baby potatoes and garlic knots and I made some veggies to go with it. The squash and potatoes were shared with us from family’s gardens. So sweet.
I just thought that I would pop in and say “hi” this evenin’. We are still “staycationing.” It is wonderful!
Love from the Farmhouse,

We had homemade Caprese Salad last night, tomatoes & basil fresh from the backyard! (That’s where the garden is) π Mozzarella fresh from our trip to Sam’s Club on Monday! Little olive oil, salt & pepper & yumminess on a platter! I paired that with some homegrown hamburger steaks, & fried squash & okra. (Also from the backyard!) Not the healthiest meal but a good one. The okra & squash went with your last post a little. I take the easy path a lot, because after working all day, I don’t always feel like cooking up a big supper from scratch. My little sister, on the other hand, works all day with her 3rd graders & still comes home & cooks one. I’m the lazy sister! π Your last post struck a cord with me, I have been struggling a little lately with serving with gratitude. Our Pastor did a sermon a couple of weeks ago on being spiritually depleted & refilling our tank, that & you post about biscuits & gravy have been a little message from above for me. I need to get in gear! My Mr. & I worked up a bushel of peaches last night, so I think a cobbler with homemade crust will be in the work over the weekend. Thanks for the pick-me-up, my friend!!!
Aww…I love this. God whispers to us in so many ways. Girl…if that is your idea of lazy…I am a bum! Lol! Big hugs to you and that Caprese sounds divine!
