Have you ever gotten a wild hair? You are just sitting there all like…minding your own business…and all of the sudden you want to paint something?
Sometimes I have these wild hairs…and then sometimes I mull things over for months before I act on them.
We have been having The Great White Kitchen Debate around here. I love kitchens that are all white…but my family is very attached to the Russet Rose. So I have come to a conclusion. I asked my husband for a beadboard backsplash for my birthday. It’s coming up you know. So is my one year blogging anniversary. That sounds like a good reason to put new backsplash up. For now…the Russet Rose will stay. The bead board will “farmhousey” it up in there. Someday…I may break out the white paint…but not right now.
Oh yeah…and I also asked for a goat. Yes…a real goat.
Happy Thursday Evening!
Happy early 1 year! Hey if you plan on milking that goat I wanna come watch! Hee hee! My aunt made home made ice cream from fresh cows milk and said it was the best tasting ice cream so maybe goats milk would make for good ice cream too. Yum home made ice cream .
Carol! You are making me smile. When I figure out how to make goat ice cream…we shall have a party. We will invite all of our friends…and then when they start to leave…full of yummy ice cream…we will give them the down low! 😉 ~k.
Thank you…btw…for the happy wishes.
I love white kitchens – hubby loves cherry cabinets – it is an on going discussion since we will be building soon! I also love goats! Had one years ago that I raised from a baby – he liked to sit on my lap – it was cute until he got upwards of 200 pounds! He was so smart and sweet! Happy 1 year blogging and birthday!
Chris….How fun. You are one of the only positive goat comments that I have heard. 😉 We shall see…how this little wish goes. My family is usually on the bandwagon with whatever I decided to do…and they wouldn’t balk…but I just hate to paint over something that they love..you know? Part of it may just be…because that is the color that we painted it when we built it…and they want it to stay the same. That’s a good thing. This is “our” home. 🙂 Good luck with the building and picking. 😉 Thank you for the wishes! ~k.
Yes to the White… Beadboard Yes…… No goat for me… Goats are escape artists….. They eat the neighbors roses….. You chase them along the dirt road.. They like to talk alot… It would be like having a new KID… get it it, kid?…lol
Sis. B. When I get my precious little goaty…I shall have you over for milk and cookies. 😉 btw: Did I hear on the wind…that you will be picking your own paint colors soon? Fun…fun…funny…fun! ~k.
I want a beadboard backsplash too.
Did you know they have beadboard contact paper now?
I saw a blogger who did her backsplash with it last year and it looked amazing.
But I can’t find it ANYWHERE.
Kari….That sounds so much easier. I see the Mr. kind of looking constipated when I mention all of the plug-ins that he will have to measure for and cut out. Maybe I should just shut up about that. 😉 We have one sheet of beadboard out in the garage…so I’m hoping that this won’t be an expensive thingy. I’m also hoping that we find a free little goat. I’m also hoping that my Oil of Olay…really starts to work on this birthday. 😉 ~k.
Keep the red! I love it! The beadboard will be so pretty…. I would love to have it in my kitchen. I will see how it goes for you all then maybe I will tackle mine!!!! And Happy Anniversary!!!!
Niki…I really think that it will look great. My favorite blogger home of all time…has it. I didn’t even realize it…until I started checking out cheap methods of backsplash. I just want something that kind of follows the farmhouse pattern. I will keep you posted! Thank you for the wishes! 🙂 ~k
